Designer's Notes

The Markeli chapter, unveiled in 2021 and named after a medieval Byzantine stronghold in what is now southeastern Bulgaria, is a poetic tribute to the timeless connection between history and new beginnings.

The design features three delicate spheres, each crowned with a central diamond known as the “diamond eye,” inspired by the ornate beauty of Byzantine architecture and interior trimmings. Across cultures, spheres represent unity, eternity, and the cyclical nature of life.

Created during our principal designer’s pregnancy with her first child, these three spheres also evoke the intimate bond of a family. Thoughtfully crafted to embrace new mothers, the Markeli chapter honours the profound journey of motherhood, celebrating the strength, love, and grace that define this transformative experience.
